AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed

2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

CHECK OUT OUR AWANA PROGRAM THIS FALL!
Our 2011 AWANA year will start on Sept. 18th @5:30pm and will run for an hour and a half.
The prime focus at AWANA is helping children see God through His Word, the Bible. AWANA does this by encouraging scripture memorization in a fun and exciting atmosphere! Clubbers receive their own booklets filled with scripture to recite. Awards are given weekly depending on completion in the books. Similar to boy/girl scouts, clubbers can proudly display their achievements on their uniforms. Kids love AWANA and so do we!! Knowing God’s Word is essential in building a foundation for a close relationship with our heavenly Father.

AWANA is split into 5 separate age levels:

Cubbie Cubbies=3 and 4yrs old Sparky Sparks=K-2nd grade

TandT T&T= 3rd to  5th grade Trek Trek= 6th-8th grade

AND THIS YEAR WE HAVE ADDED

JOURney

Journey is a special program for our 9th through 12th grade young people.

The goal of JOURney is to instill in us GOD’S PERSPECTIVE ON LIFE. We hope all our youth will become a part of this great program.

An AWANA night is divided into 3 segments:

Council Time= This is our large group time where a fun and interactive Bible lesson will be presented.

Game Time=  This time is spent in the gym and is used to teach team work and good sportsmanship.  Please be sure to dress your child in tennis shoes and jeans or pants.  Our game time is active!!

Handbook Time=  Kids are split into small groups and are designated to a Leader.  This time is spent in the AWANA handbooks going over lessons and reciting verses.

Our AWANA commander, Christy Ziehmer, is available to answer any questions.  Please contact the church at 989 662-4427 with any questions.
